Trojans Hockey

Ladies Success Indoors

Over the weekend your Ladies 1st team qualified from Div 2 South to reach Super 6's Division 2. This is the highest level of indoor hockey any Trojans team has reached in several years.

After drawing with Horsham (2-2) and Chelmsford (3-3) on the Saturday there was all to play for the following day. Trojans started the day brightly comfortably beating Harrow 5-1 before losing to Ipswich in a close game (2-1). Results meant that Trojans final game vs Sevenoaks was a straight knockout. Whoever won would qualify although a draw would be enough for Sevenoaks. After a tight game full of chances and close calls, qualification was secured in dramatic style. A penalty corner was awarded on the final whistle with the score at 2-2. Up stepped Lizzie Gittens who calmly slotted her drag flick past the goalkeeper securing a place in Super 6s Div 2. The ladies will play against Chelmsford, Ipswich, Stourport, The Army and Beeston in Bradford later this month.
