Ladies 1s announce new coaching team

We are delighted to announce the appointment of David Rutherford to the position of Ladies 1s head coach. David brings a wealth of experience having coached a number of high-level clubs and has previously worked in a number of coaching roles for England Hockey.

David has previously been approached about the position, but circumstances and timings weren't right. However, on this occasion things have fallen into place and we are now delighted to appoint him to lead out ladies 1s set up.

We would like to thank outgoing coach Merijn Van Willigen for his hard work/ Merijn is leaving after a season in charge to take over Chichester Men's 1s.

The club have also retained the services of the former Ladies 2nd XI coach, James Sordillo, who will become an assistant coach with the 1st team. James will work with the 1st team at training and on match days. The appointment of an assistant coach to the 1st team brings Trojans'

coaching structure closer in line with top National League sides.

With the ladies 1s starting pre-season training at the end of the week, they will be working hard towards their first game of the season against Oxford Hawks on September 23rd. The game is at Trojans and push back is at midday.
