Trojans Hockey Umpire Pathway

Hello,

You’ve been added to this Teamo group as you’ve expressed an interest in learning to umpire via the registration questions at the start of the season.

If you selected the wrong option, and would like us to remove you, please let us know.

Umpiring is a rewarding activity, and requires no prior hockey knowledge. It’s a great way to get involved with the club at any level, and without a strong team of umpires, no games would take place.

We’ve put this group together to support the development of new umpires, guide you through the process and for you to support each other (no question is too obvious!).

The Basics / Getting Started

Anyone above the age of 14, when appropriately supported, can umpire a game.
Register at https://hockeyhub.englandhockey.co.uk
Complete online rules test and sign up for a Level 1 online course, takes 2 hours and is FREE!
There are further umpire development modules and videos available
We’d like to arrange some sessions with our experienced umpires/umpire developers on the pitch to develop your confidence
With enough interest we can organise South Central Officiating to attend and offer guidance
We can then work with each individual to find suitable opportunities to get your first games under your belt
We can provide appropriate equipment (whistle, cards etc)
